Career Path



Before establishing FFAF, Alberto dedicated a decade to his role as Senior Architect at premier architectural firms, including Parkins and Rhodon in New York and Fentrell Architects in San Francisco. His earlier professional milestones include a tenure as Senior Architectural Design Strategist at Macaby and Roy, starting in 2003 and ascending to Senior Architect by 2008. His architectural journey began at a firm founded by his father in 1990 in Albany, NY, where he eventually became a Project Architect in 2002 after varied roles, including an internship and business consulting in NYC. His influence has also been felt in places like Eastchester, where his projects have contributed to the local architectural landscape.



Education and Expertise



His academic career commenced with a Bachelor of Business from the University of Pennsylvania in 2000. His passion for architecture led him to Cornell University, where he earned his Master of Architecture with distinction in 2002. He furthered his education with specializations in Building Science and Technology and Environmental Systems. In 2003, he returned to Cornell to enhance his knowledge of environmentally-conscious building and design.



Professional Achievements



Throughout his twenty-year career, A. Alberto Lugo has participated in significant architectural projects, such as collaborating with the San Francisco Historic Buildings Committee in 2012 on public service space renovations and designing sustainable structures for the Hagman's Group in NYC in 2015. At Parkins and Rhodon, he led the design of a significant shopping center, contributed to the design of a multi-story house of worship, and engaged with urban development teams to create affordable housing solutions.
